Three Swedish law firms have teamed up with the SCC and Stockholm University to support advanced arbitration studies in Stockholm. Gernandt & Danielsson
, Mannheimer Swartling
have provided funding to establish the Stockholm Arbitration Scholarships for China programme. This programme, which has the support of the SCC, will provide full tuition scholarships to three outstanding Chinese law graduates to study in the Master of International Commercial Arbitration Law (ICAL) programme at Stockholm University in Stockholm, Sweden.
The ICAL programme at Stockholm University, which celebrates its tenth anniversary next year, offers students the opportunity to undertake an international and comparative study of arbitration law from both theoretical and practical perspectives. Under the instruction of academics, judges, leading practitioners and international arbitrators, the programme brings together young lawyers from across the world to engage in this interactive programme. Students go beyond the classroom and into the arbitration community through trainings and seminars at the SCC, law firms and courts; participation in international arbitration competitions; and engagement in mock arbitrations.
Representitives from the SCC, Stockholm University, Gernandt & Danielsson, Mannheimer Swartling and Vinge will be in Beijing on 15 February 2012 and Shanghai on 16 February 2012 to launch the new scholarships and meet interested students.
